The department of chemistry, Gitam Institute of Science, will offer a tailor-made post-graduationprogramme in chemistry in collaboration with Laurus Laboratories. The specially designed MSc chemistry programme is for Intermediate (10+2 students) passed who want to work in the pharma and chemical industries. The students of this programme will have a competitive advantage over other students in view of intensive soundtheoretical knowledge endowed with practical skills in the industry.
The students need not pay any fee to varsity. The Larus Laboratories came forward to pay the student fee (Rs 50,000) every year along with Rs 5,000 monthly scholarship. For this, the university is conducting an entrance examination on July 22 to select meritorious students. Candidates who scored 50 per cent marks in Intermediate with chemistry subject can apply for this test.
